2.40×50mm Square Shank Common Iron Nails Complete Specification
1. Material
Made of high-quality Q195 low carbon steel wire rod. After drawing, forming and tempering treatment, the nail has balanced hardness and toughness, not easy to break or bend when hammering.
2. Product Features
1. Square four-edge shank design. Four sharp edges bite tightly into concrete, brick and wood, providing strong pull-out resistance.
2. Sharp diamond nail point, easy to pierce masonry, timber and cement wall.
3. Thick round nail head, large striking area, prevent hammer slipping during construction.
4. Stable mechanical property, low breakage rate in mass construction.
5. Standard size: wire diameter 2.40mm, total length 50mm, widely used for light fixing projects.
3. Surface Treatment Options
1. Color galvanized (rainbow zinc coating): Excellent anti-rust performance, suitable for outdoor humid environment; zinc layer firmly attached, no peeling after hammering.
2. Hot dipped galvanized: Super thick zinc coating, for coastal, high humidity areas.
3. Black annealed finish: Low cost, only for indoor dry environment without anti-rust requirement.
4. Differences Between Square Shank & Round Shank Nails
1. Pulling resistance
Square shank: 30%-50% higher anti-pull force than same-size round nails. Four edges lock materials tightly, no loosening under vibration.
Round shank: Smooth round surface only relies on friction, easy to fall off under long-term vibration.
2. Driving resistance
Square shank: Slightly harder to hammer into hard concrete due to edge cutting.
Round shank: Smooth body slides easily, faster installation for temporary fixing.
3. Application difference
Square shank: For permanent, load-bearing fixed installations.
Round shank: For temporary fixing, light wood simple construction.
4. Cost
Square shank requires extra shaping process, unit price slightly higher than round shank nails.
5. Anti-corrosion performance
Same anti-rust effect if adopting identical galvanizing process, only shank structure differs.
5. Export Packing
Retail small packing (for hardware stores wholesale)
1. Inner: PE moisture-proof plastic bag; outer color printed paper box, 0.5kg / 1kg per box.
2. 20~25 boxes packed into 5-layer thick export carton, whole carton wrapped with waterproof film.
3. Outer carton printed with specification: Square Shank Common Nail 2.25×45mm, net weight, surface treatment, origin mark.
Industrial bulk packing (for construction factories & big importers)
1. 25kg woven bag with inner anti-rust PE film.
2. Bags stacked on IPPC fumigated wooden pallets, fastened by steel strips.
3. Desiccants placed inside containers to avoid rust during long sea transportation.
4. Mixed loading available: multiple nail sizes in one container to cut ocean freight cost.
6. Application Fields
1. Decoration & Hydropower: Fix wire slots, water pipe clamps, wall boxes, keel, skirting boards, door and window frames.
2. Construction: Light fixing on red brick, aerated block and cement mortar wall.
3. Industrial & Warehouse: Install small brackets, signboards, monitor bases and storage racks.
4. Outdoor works: Galvanized types for courtyard guardrail, billboard, greenhouse auxiliary fixing.
