I. Basic specifications
BWG8 Birmingham wire gauge, with a nominal diameter of 4.191mm (usually 4.0mm in the market), belongs to coarse galvanized iron wire.
II. The material
1. Base material: low carbon mild steel Q195/Q235, SAE1006/1008 wire rod.
2. Process flow: wire rod drawing → pickling for rust removal → annealing for softening → galvanizing → coiling.
3. Mechanical properties: tensile strength 350-550 MPa; Elongation ≥10%, good flexibility and easy to bend and bind.

III.Product features
1. High strength: thick wire diameter, strong load-bearing and binding tension, and difficult to deform and break;
2. Anti-corrosion and durability: the zinc layer is isolated from air vapor and can be used outdoors for many years;
3. Soft and hard options: annealed soft silk is easy to bend by hand, and hard silk is suitable for weaving and fencing;
4. The surface is bright and uniform, the zinc layer has strong adhesion, and it is not easy to lose zinc powder;
5. Adaptation and reprocessing: it can be bent, welded, braided, and nailed by secondary wire drawing.
IV. Surface treatment methods (two categories)
1. Hot-dip galvanizing (the mainstream export of foreign trade) -Process: steel wire is immersed in molten zinc to form alloy zinc layer; -Zinc coating weight: 45–180 g/㎡, with long anticorrosion life, preferably in seaside and rainy areas; -Appearance: matte silver gray, thick and wear-resistant zinc layer.
2. Galvanizing (cold galvanizing, short-term inland use) -Process: electrolytic zinc plating; -Weight of zinc coating: 10–18g/㎡, with thin and bright coating; -Disadvantages: poor salt spray resistance, not suitable for long-term outdoor use in coastal areas. Optional additional processing PVC/PE coated galvanized wire (outer plastic, scratch-proof, more corrosion-resistant, mostly used for garden fences).
V.Export standard packaging
1. Single roll specifications: 25kg/ roll, 50kg/ roll (10–100 kg can be customized);
2. Inner layer: wrapped by waterproof PE plastic film, moisture-proof and oxidation-proof;
3. Outer layer: PP woven bag/hessian cloth wrapped and bound;
4. Reinforcement: each roll is bound tightly with steel belt/iron wire to prevent it from being scattered by sea;
5. Whole container loading: multiple volumes are stacked on solid wood pallets, and stretched films are wound to facilitate forklift loading and unloading;
6. Label: the outer bag is marked with BWG8, weight, material, galvanized type, country of origin and HS code (7217200000).
VI. Main uses
1. Agricultural animal husbandry: tying branches in orchards, fences for cattle and sheep pastures, and skeleton of breeding cages;
2. Construction project: large-scale steel bar binding, scaffolding fixing and heavy building materials packaging;
3. Wire mesh weaving: raw materials for welding mesh, guardrail mesh, gabion mesh and slope protection mesh;
4. Industrial packaging: heavy goods, steel pipes and wood containers are bundled and fixed;
5. Hardware products: processing coarse nails, bolts and hardware accessories;
6. Municipal Gardens: Highway protective fences, garden shapes and fixed greening.
