Raw materials, production process, types, and application areas of welded mesh
1、 Raw materials
The main raw materials for welded mesh include:
1. Low carbon steel wire: With high strength and stability, it is the basic material for manufacturing ordinary welded mesh.
2. Galvanized steel wire: divided into two types: hot-dip galvanizing and electroplating galvanizing, which improve corrosion resistance through galvanizing process and are suitable for humid or outdoor environments.
3. Stainless steel wire: mainly 304 or 316 stainless steel, with excellent corrosion resistance and aging resistance, suitable for high demand scenarios.
4. Iron wire: After straightening treatment, it is used for welding, and some parts require subsequent surface treatment to enhance performance.
2、 Production process
1. Raw material preparation: Select low-carbon steel, stainless steel or galvanized steel wire, and carry out straightening and cutting treatment.
2. Welding Forming: Automated welding equipment is used to cross weld steel wires vertically and horizontally, forming a grid structure to ensure uniform and firm welding points.
3. Surface treatment:
-Galvanization: divided into hot plating (strong corrosion resistance) or cold plating (lower cost);
-Coating/PVC wrapping: Covering the mesh with a plastic layer to enhance weather resistance and insulation;
-Other treatments, such as passivation or spray coating, further enhance performance.
3、 Types of welded mesh
1. Classified by material:
-Low carbon steel wire welded mesh (basic type);
-Galvanized welded mesh (hot-dip galvanized, cold dip galvanized);
-Stainless steel welded mesh;
-Plastic coated welded mesh (surface covered with plastic).
2. Classified by structure:
-Frame mesh: used for building reinforcement or decoration;
-Stone cage mesh: processed from heavy-duty hexagonal mesh, used for slope protection or retaining walls in hydraulic engineering.
3. Classified by purpose:
-External wall insulation mesh, plastering and crack prevention mesh (in the field of construction);
-Breeding nets, underfloor heating nets (for agriculture and home use);
-Protective nets, industrial sieves (for mechanical and filtration scenarios).
4、 Application Fields
1. Construction project:
-Used for reinforcing wall insulation layer and preventing concrete cracking (such as plastering steel wire mesh);
-The heat dissipation layer mesh in the underfloor heating system;
-Decorative fence or safety net.
2. Water conservancy engineering:
-Stone cage mesh is used for river slope protection and retaining wall structures, with both permeability and erosion resistance.
3. Agriculture and aquaculture:
-Breeding fence, poultry house isolation net;
-Greenhouse supports or crop climbing nets.
4. Industrial sector:
-Mechanical equipment protective cover;
-Screening filters (such as in mining and chemical industries).
